Quotations:
Jeff Ennis, MP for Barnsley East & Mexborough, said “I have a real attachment to this area having worked at the former Grimethorpe Colliery myself and am therefore delighted to be involved with the opening of the facility that will surely breathe even more new life into the community”.
“Today marks an important day for the people of Grimethorpe and for all the people who have worked hard on the new building. We are very proud to open this LIFT Centre on behalf of Grimethorpe’s community. As both a provider and commissioner of local healthcare, the Primary Care Trust’s priority is to ensure people are able to access their health services in an environment which is clean, modern and fit for the job. Not only does the new Grimethorpe LIFT Centre allow us to do this, but it will also bring some services much closer to home for patients, making easier, faster access to a wide range of high quality healthcare that is much more convenient too.” Tom Sheard, Chairman of Barnsley Primary Care Trust
